Literacy Week

The children had a busy week of literacy last week. They had activities of poetry and story writing, learning about St. George and Brian Patten. Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to have workshops with a group of Mummers. Brian Patten held a poetry recital and question time for the children on Friday afternoon that some parents were able to attend. This was a lovely way to finish the week and Brian was great with the children. He was kind enough to donate some of his poems for the children! I would like to remind parents of the £2.50 contribution. A great deal of parents from Kentisbury have handed something in but there is very little from Parracombe and Lynton at the moment...

Raising Aspirations
Year 5 and 6 had another inspiring talk last week from George. He talked to the children about his career in packaging and advertising.

Governor Visit
We were so pleased to be joined by Jo Tucker last week. She spent a day in each school and enjoyed talking to the children in each class.

Easter Service
The first combined Easter service yesterday was a huge success. We were delighted to be joined by many of you and also members of the community including PC Grace. The children performed a range of cameos including dance, poems, singing and drama. Thank you to Miss Cawley for organising the event and to all at Lee Abbey who contributed to the service.
